“AMAKS Congress-hotel” is located near mount Kharkovskaya in the city of Belgorod, within easy reach of the central part of the city. From the windows of the rooms our guests can enjoy an excellent view of the city’s main sights. Right opposite the hotel up on a high hill there stands the monument to Prince Vladimir, and looking down a little below you can see a splendid panorama of Belgorod. Exiting the hotel you go straight to the Victory Park located on both banks of river Vezelitsa. If you walk a little bit further you will enter the “Fiery Curve” museum.
But rich and glorious history is not the only important feature of Belgorod, Nowadays the city is one of the most dynamically developing places in Russia and has turned into a significant cultural, educational, industrial, and scientific centre.

The most famous sights of the region are:

monument to Prince Vladimir the Red Sun, baptiser of Rus and founder of the city of Belgorod;
Prokhorovskoye battlefield featuring a chapel built in the memory of the warriors killed in a tank battle in 1943;
“Fiery Arc” diorama museum. Stands in the Victory Park on the bank of the Vezelitsa. Founded in the honour of a historical victory of Red Army in the battle on Kurskaya Arc. One of the largest nationwide museums in the honour of the feat of Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War;
Belgorod State Academic Theatre of Drama named after M.S. Shchepkin;
Belgorod State Puppet Theatre;
Starooskol municipal theatre for children and youth;
cathedral of the Transfiguration of Our Saviour. Has many shrines of regionwide significance, the most venerated of which are the holy relics of St. Josafath of Belgorod and the icon of Nicolas the Warrior;
St. George’s church. Built of logs. The only church of such kind regionwide.
